What customers look for

What people look for in a therapist or clinic

People often take their time over this decision. Your site can answer the questions they might feel awkward asking.

Who you are

Your training, your approach and why you do this work, in your own words.

Your credentials

Membership of a professional body such as the BACP, UKCP or NCPS for counsellors, or HCPC registration for physiotherapists and psychologists, with numbers if you like.

What you help with

The issues, conditions or goals you work with, and the ones you'd refer on.

Fees and practicalities

What a session costs, how long it lasts, online or in person, and your cancellation policy.

How to start

A free first call, an assessment, or straight to booking: make the first step obvious.

Privacy

Reassurance that enquiries are confidential, and a short contact form that asks only for what it needs.

Sample site

A sample therapy practice site

The shape of the home page we'd build you. The practice here is made up.

  • A gentle headline that says who you help and where, including online.
  • Your professional body and registration number in the trust line.
  • The first step as a button: a free call, an assessment or booking.
  • What you offer, in plain words, each with its own page.
  • Your availability, marked up so search engines can read it.
The details

The details that matter for therapists and clinics

What builds trust before a first session. We only show what you tell us is true.

Protected titles

Some titles are protected by law: physiotherapists and practitioner psychologists must be registered with the HCPC, osteopaths with the GOsC and chiropractors with the GCC. Your site shows your registration exactly as you give it to us.

Membership bodies

Counsellor and psychotherapist aren't protected titles, so membership of a body such as the BACP, UKCP or NCPS is what reassures clients. Show yours, with your number if you like.

Careful claims

The advertising rules in the CAP Code cover your own website and expect evidence behind health claims. We keep your site's claims to what you can stand behind.

Private enquiries

Your enquiry form is short, comes straight to you and carries a privacy notice. It can ask people to leave health details for when you speak.

Booking

Upkept doesn't run a booking calendar, so your Book button goes to the system you already use.

Built for search

Your site is marked up for search engines with what you do, your hours and where you work.

Change it by chat

Things therapists and clinics ask their site to do

No editor and no waiting for a web designer. Type what you want, see a preview of exactly what will change, and tap approve. Nothing goes live until you say so, and any change can be undone.

Beyond the website

Getting more clients from your website

Most people find a therapist through a directory, a referral or a search. Your site is where they decide.

  • Link your directory listings and your Google Business Profile to your website.
  • Write a short page for each thing you help with.
  • Make the first step simple: one button, one action.
  • Keep your availability current; a waiting list note is better than silence.
  • If you use testimonials at all, use them only with clear permission, and check your professional body's guidance first.

FAQ

Therapists and clinics ask us

Can clients book sessions through the website?

Your Book buttons can go to the booking system you already use. Upkept doesn't run a booking calendar itself, so your diary stays in one place.

Is the contact form confidential?

Enquiries come straight to you, and the form carries a privacy notice. You can ask people to keep their first message short and leave health details for when you speak.

Can you show my professional registration?

Yes: your membership body or regulator and your registration number, exactly as you give them to us. We never add one you haven't told us about.

Do you build websites for clinics with several practitioners?

Yes. A clinic site can have a page for each practitioner, the conditions you treat and how to book with each person.

Do you build websites for coaches?

Yes. Coaching sites follow the same pattern: who you help, how you work, your packages and fees, and a clear first step such as a free call.

How much does a website for a therapist cost?

Upkept is £99 a month with no setup fee, on a 12-month initial plan, then month to month. Our cost guide compares that with DIY builders and one-off builds. Read the website cost guide.
